Fun-A-Day 2015: Preparation & Opening Reception

2015 has been off to a fantastic start with my 3rd year participating in the Fun-A-Day project.

I prepped my pieces for hanging by stamping, signing, and framing my JanuMurray prints.

The next day was busy with hanging/ preparation. It also happened to rain, coating the sidewalks with ice. I, thinking I was wearing footwear intended for such weather, found myself woefully unprepared to walk in the slick conditions and had an adventurous time getting home, to say the least.

The opening went really well! The weather threatened to almost cancel the opening, but we were able to enjoy the reception the following Friday. I was happy to be supported by some friends who braved the weather and came out to see all the work. I met some very friendly people and was happy to finally get to know the people I'd only met through our Facebook group.

I'm so glad Kat & Morgan were able to come out and have a good time!

You can also read a great review by fellow Fun-A-Day-er Mary England on her blog, Uncustomary Art and re-live the experience through photos by Stanley Jaworski (there's a really awkward one of me intently watching Lorraine Imwold read from her collaborative children's book project!)

I'm both sad and excited for the closing reception next Saturday, March 28th. Hope to see you guys there!
